Hi, I’m Renee 🤍
I was born and raised in Sheldon, Iowa—a small town in northwest Iowa surrounded by cornfields in the summer and snow-covered roads in the winter. It’s a place built on faith, family, and hard work. Growing up in a family of farmers and small business owners, I learned early on what it means to hustle, dream big, and stay grounded. Entrepreneurship has always been part of who I am.
I’m also a proud mom of two beautiful children, who have been a huge part of my “why” from the very beginning.
In 2013, as a single mom, I took a leap of faith and opened SPJ on August 13th in downtown Sheldon. It started in a small 1,200 sq ft space on 3rd Avenue, originally focused on children’s clothing. By year two, I introduced women’s clothing—and it quickly became clear this was where my heart (and yours!) truly was.
As SPJ grew, so did our space and our vision. After four years, we moved to a larger location on 9th Street, expanding to 2,500 sq ft. In 2022, I made the tough but exciting decision to fully transition into women’s clothing, allowing us to better serve and grow with our customers.
Later that year, I purchased what used to be an old mechanic shop on Highway 18—knowing deep down it could become something special. After months of renovations, hard work, and a whole lot of vision, SPJ’s forever home came to life. We officially reopened in our new 4,800 sq ft space on September 21, 2023… after being closed for just three days!
Our newest addition to SPJ was made in May 2026...we NOW carry Pre-Loved Women's Apparel sizes XS-3X. Yes...that is right...come on in and consign your gently used clothing here at SPJ. Plus...we even consign Prom & Wedding Dresses.
Over the past 13 years, SPJ has become so much more than a boutique—it’s a community. And that’s because of YOU.
